The final Nanda ruler of Magadha was Dhana Nanda, who was deposed by Chandragupta Maurya with the aid of Chanakya.By defeating Dhana Nanda in 321 BC, Chandragupta Maurya, with the help of a cunning and politically astute Brahmin, took the throne.
Nanda family, which ruled over Magadha in northern India from approximately 343 and 321 BCE. As with all pre-Mauryan dynasties, the Nanda line immediately preceded the rule of the Mauryas, and little is known about it as a combination of fact and legend.
