Detailed Solution

The fine particles of an insoluble substance uniformly dispersed throughout a gas or liquid are known as a colloidal solution.
A colloidal solution is a combination in which one material is suspended inside another and contains a dispersion of insoluble particles. In contrast to a solution, which only has one phase made up of the solute and the solvent, a colloid has both a continuous phase and a dispersed phase (the suspended particles) (the medium of suspension). To be considered a colloid, the mixture must either not settle or settle only very slowly. Whipping cream, mayonnaise, milk, butter gelatin, paper, etc., are a few examples of colloidal solutions.
