Detailed Solution

Given: a=17,l=350 and d=9 .
Let there are n terms in the A.P.
Formula for the n th term:
a n =a+ n1 ×d
Applying nth term of an A.P. formula:
a n =l=350 17+(n1)×9=350 9n+8=350 9n=3508 9n=342 n= 342 9 n=38 Thus, there are 38 terms in the A.P.
Formula used for sum of first term of A.P.:
S n = n 2 [a+l]
Applying sum of 38 terms of an A.P. formula:
S 38 = 38 2 (17+350) S 38 =19×367 =6973
Therefore, are there 38 terms and the required sum is 6973.
Hence, option (1) is correct.
