The first Anglo-Afghan war was fought during 1838-1842.
The Afghan war was fought during 1838-1842 between the Emirates of Kabul and the British empire. It was fought for the land of Kabul. Even though Dost Muhammad, an Afghani, had friendly relations with Raja Ranjit Singh and Shah Shuja, he deceived them. After that, a treaty was signed between the three known as the tripartite treaty, which was signed between Raja Ranjit Singh, Shah Shuja and Auckland (Governor-General of India) in which they united against Dost Muhhamad.
