In 1876, Aamar Jiban was published. Rashsundari Devi's autobiography is called that. It was also the first book authored by a Bengali woman. Amar Jiban tells the narrative of a woman's fight for literacy in the nineteenth century. It depicts the changing world of rural Bengal and the actions of women who live there. It was the first full-length book or autobiography to be published in Bengali.
