(Warren Hastings) He was the final governor of Bengal when he was named governor-general in 1774. He also served as Bengal's first governor-general. In 1772, he also did away with the dual system of government. Murshidabad's Treasury was transferred to Calcutta. Bengal's capital moved to Calcutta in 1772. He divided Bengal into districts, and appointed British collectors and an Accountant General for each district. During his presidency, dating apps 1773 was passed.
