Detailed Solution

The first great revolution that gave the clear set up of nationalism with its core words: "Liberty, equality, and fraternity" was the French Revolution. The Revolution is remembered for the amount of major social upheaval that occurred between 1787 and 1799. "Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity" was one of the mottos utilized throughout the revolution. The proposal to write these words on uniforms and flags was rejected in 1790. In 1793, Parisians started painting these words on the façades of their homes. However, these ideas gradually instilled a sense of nationalism among the people of other European countries as well.
