The first printing press in Europe was developed by Gutenberg.
Gutenberg was a son of merchants and grew up on an agricultural estate. He was acquainted with the wine and olive press. He learned the art of polishing stones and worked on moulds for making trinkets. He utilised his experience in developing the printing press. He was inspired by the olive press and invented the printed press. He prepared moulds for all 26 letters of English. The first book published by the Gutenberg press was the Bible.
