The First World War is considered the first modern industrial war.
The First World War, which took place at the beginning of the 20th century, from 1914 to 1918, was fought between the power bloc of Allies consisting of the countries of Britain, France, Russia, and the US (but it joined the war much later) and the Central Powers which included the country of Germany, Austria-Hungary and Ottoman Turkey. This war is considered the first modern industrial war because of the involvement of the world's leading industrial nations, which were able to capitalise on their industrial power to inflict unparalleled destruction and devastation on their enemies. Machine guns, tanks, chemical weapons, and faster modes of transport like aircraft, railways, etc., employed in the war were all products of modern industry and were produced on a mass scale. With industrial arms, the scale of destruction was large, 9 million people died, and 20 million were injured.
