  • The bronchi are two branches of the trachea that lead to the lungs.

Label 2-  Lungs

  • The lungs are a pair of spongy organs that take in oxygen and expel carbon dioxide. They are made up of bronchioles, alveoli, and capillaries. 
  • The bronchioles are small tubes that branch off the bronchi and lead to the alveoli.
  • The alveoli are tiny air sacs in the lungs where gas exchange occurs. Oxygen from the air we breathe diffuses into the blood, while carbon dioxide from the blood diffuses into the alveoli to be expelled.
