Detailed Solution

Foreign goods were boycotted, liquor shops picketed, and foreign cloth burnt on huge bonfires. The movement is Boycott Movement. The Boycott Movement was an integral part of the Non-Cooperation Movement. This boycott movement affected not only society's social and political sections but also the economic section. Decisions were made to boycott foreign goods. Foreign liquor shops were picketed, and foreign cloth and goods were burned and destroyed. Because of this, imports of foreign fabric dropped rapidly. Indian Merchants and traders refused the trade of foreign goods. Many started wearing only Indian clothes, and the production of Indian handloom and textiles went up. But this movement’s success rate was not very good for many reasons. One such reason was the expense of Khadi cloth. Khadi cloth was more expensive than mill cloth, and ordinary people could not afford it.
