Detailed Solution

We know that a fraction is a number that represents part of a whole. A fraction is always represented in the form of  p q   where the positive number  p   above the line is called the numerator and the positive number  q   below the line is called the denominator.
We call two fractions like fractions when their denominators are equal and we call two fractions unlike fractions when their denominators are not equal. For example,  1 5 , 8 5   are like fractions because they have the same denominator 8 but  1 5 , 2 4   are unlike fractions because they do not have the same denominator. There can be more than two numbers of like fractions too for example 1 7 , 3 7 , 12 7 , 7 7  .
We know that the unit fraction is a fraction with numerator 1 and denominator is a positive number, for example 1 5 , 1 7  . Since two unit fractions can never have the same denominator, they cannot be like fractions.
