The full form of NITI Ayog is National Institution for Transforming India Aayog. It was formed on 1 January 2015, replacing the Planning Commission. It comprises chief ministers of all states, lieutenant governors of UTs, and a vice-chairman nominated by the Prime Minister. In the National Institution for Transforming India Aayog (NITI Aayog), state governments play a more significant role. It is merely a consultative body. The primary function of the NITI Ayog is to implement policies and schemes effectively in the country.
