The Ganga plain extends between Ghaggar and Teesta rivers.
The Northern Plain has three main divisions. They are the Punjab plains, Ganga plains, and Brahmaputra Plains. Punjab plains lie on the Western side, Brahmaputra Plains on the eastern side, and Ganga plains in the central part. Ganga Plains spreads over various states of Northern India, including Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, part of Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Ganga Plains lies between the river Ghaggar and the river Teesta. It runs parallel to the Himalayas and is extremely fertile since silts are deposited here by various rivers.
