The Government of India has initiated various programs to eliminate poverty in our country.
These programs include various poverty alleviation programs, minimum needs programs, and employment generation programs for the welfare of people below the poverty line. National Rural Employment Guarantee Act or NREGA is a scheme or program introduced by the government to compensate people in case they fail to get employment for 100 days a year, even after applying for the same. By doing so, the government serves the citizens of its country with income to fulfill at least their minimum necessities. Other programs include Swaranjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojna, Pradhan Mantri Gramodaya Yojana, Prime minister Rozgar Yojna, etc.
