Detailed Solution

Gram Panchayat is elected for 5 years.
The term of the Gram Panchayat is fixed. It is chosen for a five-year term. Wards, or smaller territories, are used to divide each village's Panchayat. The Ward Member is the person chosen by the residents of each ward (Panch). A Sarpanch, who serves as the Panchayat President, is further chosen by all of the Gram Sabha members. The Gram Panchayat is made up of the Ward Panchs and the Sarpanch. The Secretary of the Gram Sabha also serves as the Secretary of the Gram Panchayat. This individual is a government-appointed official rather than someone who was elected. The Secretary is in charge of calling meetings of the Gram Sabha and Gram Panchayat as well as maintaining records of the proceedings.
