The gravitational force with which a body is attracted towards earth will be minimum at the equator and maximum at the poles because there are factors.

1) Radius of the equator - As the earth is flattened at the pole, the radius of the equator is greater than the radius of the pole. Since gravity is inversely proportional to the radius. The factor will not reduce gravity at the equator compared to the poles.

2) Centrifugal force - At the equator centrifugal force works outward opposite to the direction of the force of gravity which works at the center of the earth. Thus again reducing gravity at the center centrifugal force at the pole will be zero.

3) Mass - As Earth has a lot of mass at the equator, a Particular force will increase gravity at the equator.
