It harmed the economy of the United States. Unemployment grew very fast as there was an economic crisis and a shortage of funds, and employed people also lost their jobs during this crisis, which led to rising unemployment rates in the United States. During this great depression, many factories, banks, industries, and businesses became bankrupt. They were left with no funds, which brought them losses, further urging them to take loans, and on the failure of repayment of those loans, these firms became bankrupt.
