Workers lost their jobs, or those still working were getting fewer wages. Small entrepreneurs were facing an economic crisis as their businesses got ruined. Even big firms experienced the effect of this depression. Germany was impacted the most by the Great Depression as it had to repay US loans. Consequently, Germans became desperate as unemployment and poverty increased with a fall in the economy. Eventually, the depression led to the fall of the Weimar Republic and the rise of Adolf Hitler and his Nazi party.
