Detailed Solution

The growth of exploitation and oppression led to the development of nationalism. The rise of nationalism in the colonies led to an anti-colonial movement because of colonisation limited people's freedom. Exploitation formed a tie for individuals of many groups, leading to the rise of nationalist ideologies. People began to struggle against colonialism. During World War I, the British army forcibly recruited civilians from India's rural districts. Crop failures in various parts of India during 1918-19 and 1920-21 resulted in severe food shortages. It fueled widespread irritation and hatred of British colonial rule, and the Indian national movement grew stronger and more determined.
