Detailed Solution

The Gujjar Bakarwals of Jammu and Kashmir are great herders of goats and sheep. They are a primarily Muslim nomadic tribe based in South Asia's Pir Panjal and Himalayan mountains. Traditionally, they are mostly goat herds and shepherds. They live in the Kashmir region between India and Pakistan. In several British records, which include a caste survey and census conducted from 1861-to 1941, the Bakarwals are mentioned as Gujjar shepherds. Still, an occupational survey listed them separately as a cattle-rearing community. The Gujjars-Bakarwals claim the exact origin of Gujjar. The Gujjars are known by many names: Ajjadh, Dohdhi Gujjars, Banjara Gujjars, and Van-Gujjars.
