Detailed Solution

The Gujjar bakarwals who live in Jammu & Kashmir are pastoral nomads who move in groups called Kafila. Cold and snow control their movements. These Gujjars migrate to the Shivalik range's low hills when the high slopes are blanketed with snow. These pastoralists return to the slopes when the winter melts, and the mountains become lush and green in the summer. The Gaddi Shepherds of Himachal Pradesh follow a similar pattern. They also spend winters in the lower Shivalik highlands and summers in Lahaul and Spiti. Summers are spent in the bugyals by the Gujjar cattle herders of Kumaon and Garhwal and winters in the bhabar.
