Detailed Solution

Given, half-life, T= 20 min. We know that

 NN0= 12tT

For 33% decay, NN0=100-33100=67100

If t1 is the time for 33% decay, then

 67100=12t1T                       (i)

For 67% decay, NN0=100-67100=33100

If t2 is the time for 67% decay, then

33100=12t2T                   (ii)

Dividing (ii) by (i) , we have

 3367=12t2-t1 T          (iii)

Now 336712. Hence Eq.(iii) reduces to

 121=12t2-t1T

which gives 1=t2-t1T or, t2-t1=T=20 min
