The headwaters of the Ganga are called Bhagirathi.
The Ganga river comes under the Himalayan rivers. Bhagirathi, the headwaters of Ganga, is fed by the Gangotri Glacier, and further, the Alaknanda joins at Devprayag in Uttarakhand. The Ganga river starts turning from mountains to plains as it enters Haridwar. Many tributaries join the river Ganga.
