The hydrolysis of isocyanide produces

Alkyl isocyanide hydrolysis produces primary amine. The presence of diluted mineral acid $\left({\mathrm{H}}_2{\mathrm{SO}}_4\text{ or }\mathrm{HCl}\right)$facilitates this hydrolysis. Alkali is not employed in this situation.
