Detailed Solution

The INC session of 1920 was held at Calcutta.
The Calcutta session of the INC was held in September 1920 under the presidency of Lala Lajpat Rai. This session was held to pass the resolution of the Non-Cooperation movement. This was the session where Mahatma Gandhi wrongly predicted that if the non-cooperation movement became successful, India would be able to obtain Swaraj within one year from the colonial government. But this was not the case as the movement met a lot of challenges at places. It became violent, and people interpreted the meaning of the Swaraj. Mahatma Gandhi had to withdraw from the action as people were not trained to participate in Satyagraha, and they wanted them to understand how to keep their minds calm in a violent situation.
