Detailed Solution

The India Forest Act was passed in the year 1865.
The British were concerned that the destruction of woods would result from locals using them and traders cutting down trees carelessly. As a result, they chose to consult the German specialist Dietrich Brandis and appointed him India's first inspector general of forests. Brandis saw the need to instruct individuals in the science of conservation and to implement the correct framework for managing the woods. Legitimation for this system would be required. It was necessary to create guidelines for the usage of forest resources. It was essential to limit tree-cutting and grazing to protect the forest for the production of lumber. Anyone who chopped trees according to the rules had to face the consequences.
As a result, the Brandis helped create the Indian Forest Service in 1864 and the Indian Forest Act of 1865.
