Detailed Solution

The Indian Peninsular plateau consists of two broad divisions.
Of the two divisions of the plateau, one of them is the Deccan Plateau, and another one is the Central Highlands. The Deccan Plateau is the most significant part of the Peninsular Plateau. This plateau region lies between the Arabian sea and the Bay of Bengal. The Peninsular plateau has Aravallis, Vindhyas, and Satpuras on the northern side, western ghats on the west side and eastern ghats on the east side, and the vast ocean on the southern side. It is one of the major physiographic divisions of India and has an irregular triangle shape. It has hill ranges on all of its sides.
