Detailed Solution

The Inland Emigration Act of 1859 was troublesome for plantation workers.
The authorities left the plantation and went home, but thousands of plantation workers disobeyed them. They thought that Gandhi Raj was coming and everyone in their village would receive land. However, they fell short of their objective. They were beaten severely by police while stranded on the route due to a rail and steamer strike. Plantation workers encountered difficulties due to the Inland Emigration Act of 1859 because they were prohibited from leaving the tea gardens without official authorisation. People hardly ever received such permissions. No one was permitted to enter their homes.
