Detailed Solution

The Inland Emigration Act was related to the plantation workers of Assam.
The Inland Emigration Act of 1859 stated that no plantation workers could leave the tea gardens without permission. Hence in Assam, the plantation workers were restricted to roaming. The Britishers confined them to an area far away from their village, not allowing them to roam freely inside or outside their limited space. If they wanted to go to their hometown, the Britishers' permission was required, which was rarely provided. But when they heard about Swaraj, thousands of workers left the plantation and went home. They believed that Gandhiji Raj was coming and that everyone would get their land in their village.
