Detailed Solution

The inscription found in Kandhar (in present-day Afghanistan) dates to about 2250 years ago. A king by the name of Ashoka gave the order for it to be written. Being written around the eighth year of his rule, it is one of Ashoka's earliest recorded edicts. We always use a script while writing anything. Scripts are made up of letters or symbols. We use language when we speak or read what is written. Greek (top) and Aramaic (bottom), two different writing systems and languages employed in this region, were used to write this inscription.
