Detailed Solution

The international market for fine cloth was dominated by India till the 18th century.
The trade between India and Europe has been evident for a long time. The silk and cotton textiles were produced in India. It was carried to Europe through native merchants. Fine materials were in massive demand in Europe and reaped higher benefits. The coarser cloth was produced in many regions but could not match the Indian textiles. Both land and sea routes were followed to trade products across many nations. The major ports that dominated the trade were Surat on Gujarat Coast, Hooghly in Bengal, and Masulipatnam on the Coromandel coast.
