The interparticle distance is the maximum in gases.                                                                                           Interparticle distance means the distance between the molecules of the substance. For solids, the distance between the molecules of the particle is very less. They are closely packed. For liquid, there is some distance between the molecules of the particles of liquid, but in the gaseous state, the molecules are loosely bonded, so that distance between the molecules of the gaseous particle is maximum, or we can also say that intermolecular force between the molecules of gases is least.
