Detailed Solution

The iron and steel plant was set up by J.N. Tata in India. The first iron and steel production facility in India, known as the Tata Iron and Steel Company (TISCO), was built and established on August 26, 1907, in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand, by Jamsetji and Dorabji Tata. Tata iron and steel Company started manufacturing pig iron in 1911 and manufacturing steel in 1912. During the First World War, the Tata Iron and Steel Company advanced quickly, and by 1939, it was running the largest steel mill in the British Empire. The Tata Iron and Steel Company location in Jamshedpur had several benefits, including being close to iron ore, coal, and manganese reserves, as well as Kolkata, which supplied a sizable market.
