The Iron Pillar at Mehrauli was issued by Chandragupta II. This is a remarkable example of the skill of Indian craftspeople because this pillar has not rusted in all these years despite being open to the air. It is made up of iron and weighs over 3 tonnes. The pillar is about 7.2 M high and was made 1500 years ago. This amazing art of the craftsmen shows the skill of the people. Apart from the Iron Pillar, many other buildings, such as Stupas, monuments, etc., reveal the craftsmanship of the people at that time. They were able to survive in very good shape till the present.
