Detailed Solution

The iron pillar at Mehrauli was made about 1500 years ago.
The Iron Pillar in Delhi is a 7.21-meter-high (23-foot-eight-inch) structure with a 41-centimetre (16-inch) diameter that Chandragupta II (reigned c. 375–415 CE) built and now stands in Delhi, India's Qutb complex at Mehrauli. It is well-known for the use of rust-resistant metals in its construction. The pillar weighs more than 6 tonnes and is considered to have been erected elsewhere, possibly outside the Udayagiri Caves, before being transported to its current place in the 11th century by Anangpal Tomar. It stands 7.21 m (23 ft 8 in) tall from top to bottom and 1.12 m (3 ft 8 in) below ground. It has a capital of 306 mm in the bell pattern (12 in).
