Detailed Solution

The Italian revolutionary Giuseppe Mazzini was born in Genoa. He was a leading figure in the Italian revolutionary movement as well as a politician, journalist, and campaigner for the country's unity. His actions contributed to the creation of an autonomous and unified Italy. Giuseppe Mazzini became a member of the secret society of Carbonari. After attempting a revolution in Liguria in 1831, he was sent into exile at the age of 24. Young Italy in Marseilles and Young Europe in Berne were the two more underground societies he founded. Like-minded young men from France, Italy, Poland, and Germany were the members of these two underground societies.
