Detailed Solution

The Jallainwala bagh massacre happened in Amritsar.
It was 13th April 1919 when peaceful protestors gathered in Jallianwala Bagh and held a silent protest against the ongoing centssive administrative methods being used by the colonial government. This innocent crowd was unaware of the martial law imposed on Amritsar and unknowingly broke the law. Many people also came to visit the annual Baisakhi fair. General Reginald Dyer was given the command of Amritsar to bring the situation under control. He and his troops went to Jallainwala bagh, surrounded the unarmed crowd, and ordered his troops to open fire. There was only one exit which was sealed. Many died, thousands were injured, and women and children were also not spared.
