Detailed Solution

The Judges can only be removed through Impeachment.
The procedure for removing a judge from the Supreme Court is controlled by the Judges Inquiry Act,1968, via the process of impeachment. There are two reasons for removal - proven misbehaviour or incompetence. A judge of the Supreme Court may be dismissed from his office by order of the President. An address from Parliament, approved by a special majority of each House (that is, a majority of the total membership and not less than two-thirds of the members present and voting), may be delivered to the President in the same Parliament session for such removal.
