The Khilafat Committee was formed by Ali Brothers. The main objective of the Khilafat movement was to force the British government to modify its perspective towards Turkey and restore the Khalifa to his former position. Turkey was defeated within the 1st warfare and also the harsh terms of the accord of Sevres (1920) was felt by the Muslims as an excellent insult to them. The Muslims in India were upset over the British perspective against Turkey and launched the Khilafat Movement that was put together by the Khilafat leaders and also the Congress. Maulana Abul Kalam Azad, M.A. Ansari, Saifuddin Kitchlew and also the Ali brothers were the distinguished leaders of this movement. In November 1919, a joint conference of the Hindus and also the Muslims commanded the office of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
