Detailed Solution

The Kushanas controlled the Silk Route and introduced gold coins to the Indian subcontinent. The Kushana dynasty dominated central Asia and northwest India. They had control over the ancient Silk Road. They used to demand fees to let traders travel down the Silk Road, which resulted in significant tax revenue. A section of the Silk Route connected central Asia to the seaports at the mouth of the Indus river that existed during the Kushana era. From these ports, silk was transported to Rome. The Kushanas were among the first dynasties to produce gold coins in India. The traders that travelled the Silk Route utilised these gold coins.
