Detailed Solution

The Lahore session (1929) of the Indian National Congress was presided over by Jawaharlal Nehru. The Lahore Congress of 1929 gave the nod to launch the Civil Disobedience Movement, which included non-payment of taxes to the British government. In this session, the Congress Working Committee decided to celebrate the first independence day on 26th January 1930. They called for a Purna Swaraj (complete independence) as the goal for every Indian. Another reason why this session was famous was that the presidency of the session was handed over to Jawaharlal Nehru by his father, Motilal Nehru(1928).
