Detailed Solution

The Lahore session was held on December 31, 1929. The 1929 Lahore Session was crucial to the Indian National Movement. People were prompted to demand Purna Swaraj or complete freedom. When Jawaharlal Nehru served as president, Congress convened in Lahore. In 1929, it stated that Puma Swaraj, or total independence for India, was its objective. On December 31, 1929, at exactly midnight, the tricolour flag was raised on the bank of the Ravi River to the sounds of Vande Mataram. So, on January 26, 1930, the nation observed Independence Day. On January 26, 1950, the Indian Constitution was formally enacted, cementing this date in our history. Republic Day is now observed on this day.
