Detailed Solution

The land which is left uncultivated for more than five agricultural years is called Culturable Wasteland. Such land remains flat or just filled with shrubs naturally that are not in use. They can be cultivated again after improving them through land reclamation techniques. In India, the total culturable wasteland is about 4.41%. The state of Rajasthan has the most culturable wasteland in India. Other states like Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra also have such type of land. The government has started taking measures to recover the wastelands through various Land Development schemes and projects.
