Detailed Solution

The larger part of Pakistan is formed by the river Indus and its tributaries, which is also a part of the Northern plains. The Northern Plains are located south of the Himalayas and north of the Deccan Plateau. They are formed by the silt and deposits accumulated by the three major river systems- the Indus, the Ganga, and the Brahmaputra. There are three major divisions of the Northern Plains named Ganga Plains, the Punjab Plains, and the Brahmaputra plains. The western part of the northern plain is known as the Punjab plains. Most of its part lies in Pakistan. It is formed by Indus and its five tributaries, namely the Jhelum, the Chenab, the Ravi, the Beas, and the Satluj.
