Detailed Solution

The lateral surface area and total surface area of a cuboid of length 80 cm, breadth 40 cm and height 20 cm are 4800 sq.cm and 11200 sq.cm respectively.
Given-
Length (l) of cuboid = 80cm.
Breadth (b) of cuboid =40cm.
Height (h) of cuboid =20cm.
We know,
Total surface area (TSA) of cuboid = 2(lb + bh +lh), where l is the length, b is the breadth and h is the height of the cuboid.
TSA=2(80×40+40×20+80×20)c m 2
TSA=2(3200+800+1600) cm 2
 ⟹TSA = 2(5600) cm²
 ⟹TSA = 11200 cm²
Now, we will determine the lateral surface area of the cuboid.
The lateral surface area of a cuboid= 2(l+b)h                 LSA=2(80+40)20 LSA=120×40   ⟹LSA = 4800 cm²
Thus, the total surface area of a cuboid is 11200c m 2   and the lateral surface area of a cuboid is 4800c m 2 .
