The law of inertia of motion says that a body remains in the state of rest or in uniform motion unless an external unbalanced force acts on it.
The first law is also called the law of inertia. It states that everybody will continue to remain in the state of rest or in uniform motion unless an external unbalanced force acts upon it. The unbalanced force acts in a direction opposite to the object's direction of motion and is also unequal in magnitude. An unbalanced force changes the state of motion of a body, changes the body's shape, and is capable of bringing a body to rest.
