The length of a room is 1 m less than three times the breadth of the room. If l = 11 m, then find the perimeter of the floor of the room.

Given,

The Length of a room (l) = 11 m
The breadth of a room (b)= b m
According to question
l = 3b−1
⇒11 = 3b−1
⇒3b = 11+1 = 12
⇒b = 12/3 = 4
The perimeter of the floor of the room = 2(l+b)
                                                   = 2(11+4)
                                                   = 2×15
                                                   = 30 m

Therefore, the perimeter of the floor of the room = 30 m
