Let given that, The length of the minute hand of a clock is 14 cm 

We know that, Minute hand complete full circle in 1 hour

Thus, angle swept by minute hand in 1 hour = 360⁰

Angle swept by minute hand in 1 min = 360⁰/60 = 6⁰

Angle swept by minute hand in 5 min  = 6⁰ $\times$ 5= 30⁰

Let r = 14 cm , $\theta$ = 30⁰

Area swept by minute hand  = Area of Sector

= $\frac{\theta }{{360}^0}$ $\times$ ${\mathrm{\pi r}}^2$

= 30⁰/ 360⁰$\times$ (22/7) $\times$ 14 $\times$ 14

= 154/3 cm²
