Detailed Solution

It is known that,

The sum of the lengths of any two sides of a triangle is greater than the length of the third side.

As we are given the two sides of the triangle are 12 cm and 15 cm.

So, the third side length should be less than the sum of the other two sides,

12 cm + 15 cm = 27 cm

Then, it is given that the third side can not be less than the difference between the two sides, 15 cm – 12 cm = 3 cm

So, the length of the third side should lie between 3 cm and 27 cm.
